Description

Imaged Jupiter on the night of November 4, 2023 (November 3rd in UTC) under average seeing and transparency.  Europa was transiting during this imaging session.  Europa's shadow followed close behind the moon as this was imaged just a few days past opposition.  Also visible were Jupiter's moons Io and Ganymede.

Imaged with a C8 Evo, ZWO ADC, Baader UV-IR Cut filter, and ZWO ASI224MC. Imaging train was configured to give me ~F/20. Image capture using Firecapture with gain set at 375 and an exposure of 3 ms. Stacking in AutoStakkert3 (best 20% of ~5000 frames captured over 180 seconds). Color balancing and Wavelet sharpening in Registax6.  De-rotated images in WinJupos.  Animated GIFs generated using ezgif.com.
